Youth today are greatly impacted by the uncertainty of the future in addition to the everyday challenges of growing up. The children enrolled in the Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring programs have something special that remains consistent - a positive friendship with their Big.
THIS IS WHY MENTORING MATTERS.
Little Brother Nadale and Big Brother Joe were matched in 2014, just as Nadale was starting high school. At first, Nadale was hesitant about the mentorship but he and Joe quickly realized they had a lot of common interests and through the years their friendship has grown. Today, Nadale is studying at Rutgers University and he still considers Joe to be like family, a feeling that Joe shares as well. We caught up with Nadale recently and shared how our mentoring program has impacted his life and why he thinks mentoring matters. Watch the complete video above!
Volunteer Bigs provide consistent and essential mentorship to their Littles who need a positive role model to guide and support them on their paths to becoming responsible adults themselves.
Our goal is to raise $40,000 before the end of the year to create 20 more lasting friendships like Nadale and Joe's. You can make this possible by donating today or applying to become a volunteer mentor.
Thank you for igniting the potential of New Jersey's youth.
