In Memory of Pete McGuiganPete began volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters in 2010 as an officer on the Governance Board of Trustees and a dedicated mentor to his Little Brother Daniel. In 2022, Pete and Daniel were named the agency's Big and Little of the Year because of their strong bond that exemplified the BBBS mission. When Daniel grew into adulthood, he and Pete stayed in touch and frequently got together to discuss Daniel's plans for his future, with Pete providing friendship and sound advice.
Pete played an integral role in planning the 1st Annual FORE! The Kids Golf Outing in 2012 and remained part of the event's planning committee for 13 years, helping it grow into what it is today. In 2017, Pete secured Manasquan River Golf Club to host the outing, and we are honored to continue this event in his memory at a course he loved.
Pete was a friend and generous supporter whom we will never forget. His sense of humor, joyous smile, and love for his family, friends, and community will have a lasting impact on our agency and the youth we continue to serve.
