Having witnessed the impact firsthand, I can attest to the profound difference this organization makes in the lives of both mentors and mentees. The organization serves Monmouth, Middlesex, Bergen, Passaic, Sussex, Warren, Morris, Hunterdon, Somerset, and Ocean Counties. Our mission at Big Brothers Big Sisters is to ignite the potential in every child, and through mentoring relationships, we strive to create positive, lasting change. I have been volunteering for the organization for over 18 years and I have watched my little brother grow from an eight (8) year old boy who couldn’t name an NFL team other than the giants into a young man. Ali, my little brother, graduated high school as a member of the national honors society and graduated with a degree the University of Maryland - College Park. He is now 25 years old and working in sales at a company in Washington DC. Being a Big Brother has given me great perspective on life and allowed me to grow as a man and a father of my 3 young sons so I highly recommend anyone in their early 20’s to volunteer for the organization as it is tremendously rewarding and will help you learn life skills that will prepare you for parenthood.
