BBBS is one of the best non-profit organizations in New Jersey and it helps make meaningful long lasting impacts on children's lives throughout our community. I have been volunteering for the organization for almost 10 years and I have watched my little brother grow from a 8 year old boy into a freshmen in college. Ali, my little brother, graduated high school as a member of the national honors society and is now pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Maryland - College Park. In addition, being a Big Brother has given me great perspective on life and allowed me to grow as a man and a father. BBBS is supported largely by private donations and unbelievably successful at impacting children in the program. BBBS supports over 500 children in our community from single parent households. Of those children, 92% maintained or improved his/her grades in school, 90% believe they will graduate high school, 90% believe they will go on to college, 99% reported they were not arrested for a crime, 99% avoided peer violence, and 99% of the children in the program avoided risky behavior such as drug use. I hope you will help support the organization by either donating or volunteering to be a mentor to a young child. The commitment is 1 year and only takes 2 hrs. every two weeks.
