Little Brother Jayden was matched with his Big Brother Bill ten years ago. This year, Jayden became one of Big Brothers Big Sisters' first Voice of Potential interns, embracing the role of youth ambassador with an eagerness to learn and gain confidence. This was possible through Bill's mentorship over the last decade. "Thanks to my Big Brother Bill, I have learned many skills, experienced new things, and am now a confident young adult with plans for my future. I want every kid in this program to be matched with a Big so that this gift of mentorship can be passed down to new generations."
Little Sister Angelina has been matched with Big Sister Duchana for nearly two years, and together, they have enjoyed activities like painting, roller skating, bowling, and playing board games. While they always have fun together, they've found that their best times are spent at a restaurant or coffee shop, catching up and strengthening their bond. Duchana has shared that Angelina has grown more confident and outgoing since being matched, which is our goal for all our Littles!
Thanks to support from their Bigs, Jayden & Angelina are on their way to reaching greater heights, and with your support, they will have their mentor by their side each step of the way. Our organization is on track to support over 1,700 children and teens through one-to-one mentorship this year, but still, more than 100 young people need a mentor on our waitlist.
